Are you ready??

You remember what I wrote about a fresh new start in Sep here?

Well, the countdown has started... as of Mon, Sep 1st, I'll start working again after Aug off. I'll try to stay organized and stop procrastination... go to the gym (I've joined one), get the most out of my free time, scrapbook on a regular basis, study, etc

I'll keep you inform on how I do... And Shimelle is starting a new class on Sep first too, Learn Something New Every Day. Enjoy!!

A big hug,

On vacation...

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't post before I went on vacation last Aug 12th. My boyfriend, who stayed at my apartment with me from Aug 1st, and I are now in his hometown, Adra, down to the South of Spain.

We'll go back to my apartment next Friday and he'll come back here on Sunday. I'm going back to work on Sep 1st so last week of Aug I'm planning on getting my life ready for the new season.

My boyfriend is working this week 8 am to 3 pm so I'm having tons of ME time. So far, I've gone around the town, I've taken a look to some of my Scrapbooking books and I've started reading The Creative Habit, by Twyla Tharp. Will write more on this later on. Will post some vacation pics too.

Talk to you soon!!!

Enjoy your Summer!!!!

Blog prompt 25. August 8th, 2008. My Freedom, Shimelle's class.

Well, this last prompt of
Shimelle's Summer class was sent last night, Monday already for me, Aug 11th, instead of last Friday so, I'm not late!! :-)

25 - The obvious one. Tell your blog readers about this project and how you feel about scrapping yourself.

Although I haven't done any crafty yet, I've done part of the writing, thinking, sketching, etc and I think it's the first time I've really done a deep thinking about myself, my life and my scrapbooking.

As Shimelle has written "An album like this is the groundwork for everything else. A reflection of where you’ve come from and where you hope to go." This really summarizes the My Freedom scrapbook.

How I feel about scrapping myself? Great :-) I mean, I love making scrapping presents for my boyfriend, my mom, my sister, etc but, when I scrap about myself, I really think about my life, what those pics mean to me, what is hapenning around me,...

I think we live "so fast" nowadays, so stressed, and thinks like scrapbooking let us not only relax, as many other hobbies, but let our creative side fly and feel free.

I can't believe I'm up to date with the blogging prompts. And this is the last one...

Can't wait to get my hands on my album, do more thinking and get ready for Sep class. Eventually I'll make my Xmas album too, before this year's Journal Your Christmas class.
Keep checking at Shimelle's website!!

Enjoy creating!!!

One month!!!!

Oh yeah!!!

This blog is just one month old :-)

Thanks for taking a look from time to time, for your comments, etc

Blog prompt 24. August 7th, 2008. My Freedom, Shimelle's class.

24 - What’s one thing in your daily routine that you would happily say ‘no’ to if you had the option to magic it away?

Well, not much thinking about this one...

my first thought for "getting up early" when I'm working morning shift.

My second thought for "paying bills".

Blog prompt 23. August 6th, 2008. My Freedom, Shimelle's class.

23 - Tell your blogreaders about a time when you suddenly had more confidence than you expected -- maybe in replying ‘yes’ or ‘no’!

I've really never had any problem at saying "yes" or "no" but I guess I really felt I had confidence when I broke up with my ex and had to "talk" about the apartment, which I got to keep, yay!!!

Blog prompt 22. August 5th, 2008. My Freedom, Shimelle's class.

22 - When was the last time you said yes to something new? Share that experience and what you learned with your readers.

I've been thinking a lot about this prompt but just can't come out with anything...

I've been thinking about food, but I don't really eat what I don't feel I'll like, so I'm not the kind of person who dares with new tastes.

I've been thinking about other stuff but I really can't think of anything...

Wait!!! I've just seen a light! ;-) I mean, as for my creative side I could talk about Scrapbooking techniques, for example, clear stamps; they where new for me a few months ago and now, love them!!!

And what you're reading, my blog, that's really new for me!!!! I've been thinking about this for a long time but Shimelle's class was the "push" I needed, THANKS!!!!

Blog prompt 21. August 4th, 2008. My Freedom, Shimelle's class.

21 - In general, do you prefer to scrapbook with single photos or a group of photos? Share a few of your favourite examples with your blog readers.

I prefer to use several pics in my LOs and I guess that's why I love minis; a mini for me is like a huge LO with tons of pics.

Here you can take a look to a few of my LOs.
Here are my last minis.

This is the best LO I've made about me so far. What do you think?? Enjoy!!!

Blog prompt 20. August 1st, 2008. My Freedom, Shimelle's class.

20 - Share a story with your readers about one moment when you felt independent and in control.

Well, I've always been so independent and in control of my own life but there's a moment I specially remember...

when my ex and I broke up, and after "studying" the financial stuff, I got to keep the apartment and he kept the little furniture/appliances we bought and a certain amount of money we agreed.
About two months after we signed the papers, he came over with some of his friends to take his stuff. When they were done and left, I felt the apartment empty... as I was along the corridor, I stopped by the kitchen door and there it was, a rectangular white empty kitchen... I felt how my adrenaline was to the highest level, it was mine!!! all mine!!! MY APARTMENT

It really was a "it's my life, my apartment, my future" moment.

Thanks for reading!!!

Blog prompt 19. July 31th, 2008. My Freedom, Shimelle's class.

19 - What do you do when don’t feel very creative or feel like you’ve hit a creative block? Share a few tips that help you get back to yourself.

Although my "problem" right now is that my mojo seems to be on vacation too, besides my awful organization of my time, here you have

My ways to fight the Creative Block:

- I take a look to my SCB magazines/books/saved LOs from the Net/online galleries to see if something wakes up my creativity,
- I go through my papers, embellies,...
- I go through my pics,
- I stand in the middle of my scraproom and look around,...

whatever you can find that wakes up your creative side...

Right now it's not the best time to care about my mojo since Summer is here... my boyfriend, beach/swimming-pool, family & friends, trip,...

Next Sep I'm planning on organize my schedule the best I can to be able to do a little bit of everything. As I explained on this post, I know I can do it if I manage my time the best way I can.

Enjoy Summer!!!
